My Morning Routine!
What I do and why!

I love mornings! To me, mornings are the most important time of the day. I could be biased because I am such a morning person. I love being able to get up early and enjoy the quiet stillness that comes with it; well, at least until baby comes. Some of you may be reading this and thinking, "Is she crazy?" Maybe, but waking up every morning to a beautiful sunrise and having my time with God is the best way to start my day.

Still, you may be thinking, "This chick is just out of her mind," or you may be reading this and know exactly what I'm talking about. My time with Jesus, in the morning, is the most important time of everyday. No matter what! If I don't start my day off with Jesus, the rest of it is off. It's not a time that comes whenever I have a break in my schedule, I make time for it. I make time for it. God makes time for me so the least I can do is be with Him in the morning. This is what works for me, y'all! Mornings may not be your time with Jesus and that is OK! This is me. Everyone is different.

SOOOOOO, here is what my, "set-up" looks like.

Bible, journal, pen options, page tabs, and COFFEE (or chai tea).
I love to start out my morning in prayer or reflection. I grab my journal and start writing whatever is on my heart with a Spotify playlist (Indie Worship) in the background.

Next, I grab my phone or iPad and head over to She Reads Truth (SRT). They have all of their devotionals on their website so you can go back and read them from over the years. What I love so much about these devotions is that they go through different books of the Bible and give you scriptures each day to read and then follow with an incredible woman who has studied the Word. Plus, there is such a great community that comes along with these devotions each morning. At the end of each day there is a comment section where women from around the world talk about the study or send out prayer requests. It really is a great way to get involved with other like-minded women.

I LOVE BIBLES! I mean really like them! I think I have eight of them on my bookshelf. No shame or judgement here! Haha!

*ESV Journaling Bible*

ESV (English Standard Version) is definitely my favorite version to read. I think it is the easiest to understand, but there is NO wrong or bad version of The Holy Bible.
You can get this leather journaling Bible here

*She Reads Truth Bible*

Okay, now about the She Reads Truth Bible that I am absolutely in love with! I have been following their devotions for almost three and a half years, so when they announced that they were coming out with a Bible I had to pre-order it! Might I just say it did not disappoint. It is a CSB (Christian Standard Bible) which is an updated version of the HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible), originally published in 2003.
This bible is filled with the following:
  • Almost 200 devotionals
  • 66 artist-designed key verses
  • 35 full-color timelines
  • 20 full-color maps
  • 11 full-color charts
  • Reading plans for every book of the Bible
  • One-year Bible reading plan
  • Detailed book introductions
  • Key verse list
  • Carefully curated topical index
  • Sewn binding—lays flat when open
  • Wide margins for journaling and note-taking
  • Thumb-indexed page edges
  • 8.50 x 6.50 x 1.25
It's my favorite Bible! The pages of in it are very thin, but that doesn't stop me from doodling scripture and encouragement all over them. Quick mention, it is BIG. I don't carry it around in my purse from place to place, but I do love to use it as a study Bible in the comfort of my home.
You can get the She Reads Truth Bible here

I get a lot of questions about what pens I use to write in my journals and my Bibles. I almost ALWAYS use this Pilot 0.5 ballpoint pen. I just love how thin it is to write with. You can get some here.

Who likes Target or should I say, LOVES Target??? *Insert raising hand emoji here* ALL of my page tabs and sticky notes are from their famous "free" section... You know which one I'm talking about! Those aisle that just GLOW when you walk through the giant doors. Yeah, THAT section. It gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! That is where all of my little page goodies are from!

Thank you lovelies for reading this post. I hope that you find a beautiful morning routine for yourselves because, for me, it changed my mornings for the better. Of course, some mornings look different. I may be at a coffee shop doing all of this. Just depends honestly.

Stay tuned for my next week 18 week Bump Update. If you didn't read my 16 Week Bump Update, you can read that here .

XOXO- Britt

  2. The CBD website's product measurements don't quite add up. There are different numbers that don't match in their product description, and sadly the ESV leather bible you have isn't at my local store for me to check in person. Do you mind sharing the dimensions of it? Just trying to see how tall and wide it is, to help imagine carrying it around. I've seen the SRT bible in person, and while it's beautiful, you're right, it is LARGE and heavy! How does the ESV compare? Thanks!!
